Peppery Green Beans for Thanksgiving

use a miele steam oven appliance for making delicious healthy side dishes that are simple and quick

This Thanksgiving can be easier, healthier, and tastier with the Miele Steam Oven. Cooking with steam means using less oil and allows your foods to retain their nutrients rather than letting them leach into water or evaporate off like in a conventional oven.

The Miele Steam Oven

The Miele Steam Oven is also simple to use. Just fill the water reservoir and set the temperature. When the oven is warmed up, put your food on whichever rack you want and set the timer.

You can cook your whole meal in this oven with no transference of flavour. All you need to do is stagger when you put things into the oven so that everything is ready at the same time. Although, it is a good idea to place foods with high liquid content on the lower shelves in case liquids bubble over and drip down.

Now that you know a little bit about the steamer, here’s a simple, delicious Thanksgiving side dish recipe for you to try:

Peppery Green Beans

1 lb fresh green or yellow beans
1 yellow and 1 red pepper, cored and sliced
3 cloves of garlic, crushed and minced
3 tbsp olive oil
2 shakes of red pepper flakes
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp thyme
¼ tsp salt

  1. Prepare your beans by washing them and cutting the ends off. Add to the sliced peppers in a big bowl.
  2. Combine the rest of the ingredients and toss with the vegetables until they are covered.
  3. Cook in the steam oven at 100 degrees Celsius on Custom or Cook mode for 4 minutes, then serve.
